Visitors are welcome to attend our meetings held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month  at    8pm    at  

Ngaio Union Church Hall,
cnr Kenya & Crofton Rds
Ngaio

(the hall is situated opposite the Chinese Takeaway in Kenya St which is a continuation of Ngaio Gorge Road)

at which we have:

• A few short business items
• Open forum - questions, breeding successes, problems, news, help,  etc. 
  (You can pick up a huge amount of interesting information by listening to the discussions between members).
• Supper
• Programme topic (as per below)
• Sales Table - a valued resource for Members   (see below for details).

The Sales Table - a valuable resource for Members - a major component of the meeting.

The Sales Table is where Members can sell surplus fish, plants, food (including live microworms, live whiteworms) etc.
This is how and why it works so well:

• the Vendor places their item (with the price clearly showing) on the Table.
  (this should be done before the Meeting starts)
• during Supper, you can peruse the items on sale. If you wish to purchase something you write your name on the form provided.
• at the end of the Meeting, the Sales Table Manager conducts an organised sell/buy routine.
• if there is only one interested purchaser then they get to purchase the item, at the cost marked.
• if there are 2 or more interested purchasers for an item, then we "hand out the sticks" and a secret lucky draw is conducted. At the cost marked still. There is never an auction for the highest bidder. We do this to ensure fairness and so that the richest person at the Meeting does not purchase everything. It's rather fun too.
• the Society retains 20% of the proceeds and pays the Vendors (generally at the next meeting).

The Sales Table is a very valued resource for Members.
